Illustrating the Cape Friends – a journey of joy and clarity

DayCape illustrations by Tilde Hellberg

During 2025, DayCape introduced an updated visual identity, created by illustrator and graphic designer
Tilde Hellberg. The focus was to create joyful and clear illustrations—where design is
not only decorative, but also functional. ✨

To create a sense of security and recognition, she used our existing color palette to develop playful
characters with a clean, minimal expression that conveys joy, courage, and kindness. The characters act
as gentle companions throughout daily activities—present, yet never intrusive. For this reason, they have
open, lively eyes that never meet the viewer’s gaze directly, avoiding any feeling of being watched or scrutinized.

An important symbol preserved in the new design is the red cape, representing courage,
self-confidence, and self-worth. All children are heroes who navigate their everyday lives in their own
way, at their own pace. ❤️

Tilde developed the new activity illustrations with flexibility and recognition as guiding
principles. Based on the 13 most common activities, several are intentionally open to interpretation—adapted
to each child’s daily life. For example, the bathroom illustration can represent showering, washing one’s face,
or going to the swimming pool, while the meal illustration can mean breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a snack.
Colors, shapes, and details were carefully chosen to avoid unnecessary visual stress, contributing instead
to calm and clarity.

We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Tilde Hellberg! 🎉
